Privacy First

Your alarms stay on your device.

This page details exactly what the Basepedia Clock & Alarm feature does — and does not do — with your information. No servers, no tracking, no sharing.

1. Overview

This Alarm Privacy Policy explains how the Basepedia Clock & Alarm feature handles your information. We designed the alarm system with a strict privacy-first principle: your alarm data never leaves your device. This policy is written in plain language and applies only to the alarm functionality.

2. Data We Store

The alarm feature stores only the following, exclusively in your device's local storage (browser/App storage on your phone):

  • Alarm times (e.g., 07:30) and optional labels you type.
  • Whether each alarm is enabled or disabled.
  • A local history log of alarm events (set, rang, dismissed, missed) with timestamps.

3. No Data Sent to Our Servers

Alarm times, labels, and history are saved locally and are never transmitted to Basepedia servers or any third party. We do not collect, read, or analyze your alarms. Uninstalling or clearing app data permanently removes all alarm information.

4. Device Permissions

To make alarms ring reliably, the app may request these device permissions. Each is used only for its stated purpose:

  • Notifications — to show an on-screen alert when the alarm fires.
  • Vibration — to vibrate the device while the alarm is ringing.
  • Sound / Audio — to play the alarm tone.
  • Wake Lock (screen) — to keep the screen active so the alarm is heard.

5. Browser vs. Installed App

Alarms are only supported in the installed Basepedia app (APK / native build). In a web browser, the operating system cannot guarantee an alarm will fire when the tab is closed or the phone is asleep, so the alarm option displays a 'not supported in the browser' message. For reliable alarms that ring in the background, install the app.

6. Accuracy & Reliability

Within the installed app, the alarm scheduler checks the time every second and fires the alarm within one second of the set time while the app is running. The alarm will continue to ring — with sound and vibration — until you explicitly dismiss it; it never stops on its own. If the app was closed at the fire time, the alarm is recorded as 'missed' in your history so you always know what happened.

7. Alarm History

The history log (set, rang, dismissed, missed events) is stored only on your device. You can view it from the Clock page menu and clear it at any time. It is never shared or uploaded.

8. No Tracking or Analytics

The alarm feature does not include any tracking pixels, analytics, or advertising identifiers. We do not build a profile of your sleep or schedule habits.

9. Your Choices

You may enable, disable, edit, or delete any alarm at any time. You may clear the full alarm history with one tap. Disabling notifications in your device settings will silence on-screen alerts but the in-app tone and vibration will still function while the app is open.

10. Children

The alarm feature is general-purpose and does not knowingly collect any data from children. As nothing is transmitted or stored server-side, there is no personal data of any minor held by Basepedia through this feature.

11. Changes to This Policy

If we change how the alarm feature handles data, we will update this page. Because data stays on your device, material changes to this policy are uncommon.

12. Contact

Questions about this Alarm Privacy Policy can be directed to Basepedia support. For anything we cannot resolve here, please contact official support.

13. Data Retention

Alarm times, labels, and history remain on your device for as long as you keep the app installed. They are deleted when you uninstall the app, clear app storage, or use the Clear History control in the Alarm History view. We never retain your alarm data on any server.

14. Security

Because all alarm data is stored locally in the app's private storage and never transmitted, there is no server-side database to breach. Access to your alarms is limited to the app on your device. We recommend keeping your device locked with a passcode or biometric for general device security.

14. Security

15. No Advertising or AI

The alarm feature contains no advertisements and does not use artificial intelligence to generate content or analyse your schedule. Alarm tones are simple, deterministic audio patterns synthesised on your device — they are not recordings and are not personalised to you.

16. Jurisdiction & Accessibility

This feature is provided on an as-available basis. As no personal data is collected or processed, this Alarm Privacy Policy is not jurisdiction-specific; your local data-protection rights over your own device remain intact. The alarm interface follows the app's accessibility settings, including reduced-motion and font-size preferences.

100% on-device. Zero data collection.
